Hi Chowhounds!

Has anyone ever tried any of the food (casual or upscale) at the Trump National Golf Club? Yay or Nay? Thinking about doing a really nice dinner there for a birthday after a round on the links.

I'm sure the ambiance will be great-- but how in the world is the food?!?

Help!
Thanks!!

I've been there several times as my brother lives close by. The food is very good at both restaurants. I prefer the casual place as it is a little less stuffy and I believe they both use the same kitchen, chefs etc. so the food is just as good.

Had brunch there this past Easter Sunday and it was excellent.

Now if they would only bring back the $99 all day green fees from Ocean Trails!!

I eat there pretty often for lunch. They do have some very good offerings on the casual side. Sometimes things seem a little overboard though - drenched in sauce, etc. I really enjoy the brie and avocado quesadilla with mango salsa. They also make a great sashimi salad, the honey soy dressing is great. Their soups are always very good. And I love the chicken ravioli which I think are available in both areas. They have great flavor and come in a delicate lemon flavored sauce. It's also fun for lunch to try the lunch box which has three special items in small portions on one plate - a mini tasting menu. And you really can't beat the view. Too bad there are only about five outdoor tables on a very small deck. The ambiance inside is nice - a little too much gold for me since the Donald took over, and I really don't enjoy the floral arrangements - but you asked about the food, didn't you?
