Wine Bar or Cocktail Lounge - East 50's/60's

  • 3

We're venturing out of our beloved Murray Hill/Flatiron for cocktails/wine tomorrow night. Any recommendations in the East 50's or 60's that will be comfortable, not too loud and not too crowded? In our neighborhood, I Trulli's Enoteca; Bar Stuzzichini, Wine:30 and 'inoteca are favorites for wine, as is Blue Smoke for the bourbon selection. Thanks!

  1. Accademia di Vino on 3rd and 64th might be to your liking, the food is priced pretty high compared to an 'inoteca etc., mid $20s for pastas and nearly $30 for secundi as I recall. I've only had wine and it was a pretty extensive selection by the glass and not unreasonable in price.

Thanks, Alan, I haven't been there but since we're only having small plates and wine, the prices are fine. Do you know anything about Vero Midtown or Uncorked? Our friends found these in NY Mag but I keep thinking the bars in the 50's will have a young, loud crowd on a Thursday night.

I have not been to either of the places you mention, it isn't really a neighborhood I go out in too often. Hope you have a fine night no matter where you end up.
