Eric Asimov - re: his recent 3 mths as NYT restaurant critic (once again)

Asimov wrote a 'Critic's Notebook' piece today in the NYT about his 3 months as restaurant critic btw Sifton and Wells. I enjoyed reading it.

I note he also mentions how Chinese and Indian restaurants (in NYC, at least) are still hindered by consumers' expectations of cheap food. Sigh. Not new, of course. Ironic his piece is also parked next to today's review by Wells of "modern Asian" cuisine restaurant Wong. (posted about here at http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/8070...)

Elsewhere in his article he mentions Chowhound and Yelp in the same paragraph. ;-)

the online forum, ancient technology, stupid statement...otherwise I think he did a pretty good job as interim reviewer
