  1. Oh, one small piece of news, I read somewhere that Hibachi Asian Buffet opened on Pawtucket Ave in Pawtucket. This is one of those "only in RI" things as I think it's less than a football field away from the already established East Buffet there. In fact, looking at Google Maps, I think the two are visible from one another across a street. Amazing...

    1. New restaurant on South Angell Street, next door to Minerva's Pizza in the works. The sign says "Lim's Thai and Sushi". No other details.

They've been working on that site for some time, but I don't recall a sign. Did they just put that up?

        1. re: Garris

I saw it this morning (Wednesday) and believe they put it up yesterday.

Just drove by... Ick, not a fan of that facade at all. Couldn't be more different from ModMomma next to it, and it almost looks residential.

      2. According to the Providence Business News, Blount Clam Shack and Soup Bar will open at 371 Richmond Street in early spring. It also states that there is a year-round shack in Fall River and seasonal ones in Warren and Riverside. Here is the article:

Great news. We regularly hit up the Riverside one after carousel visits.

This is the spot where Stanley's was.

        2. Angkor's downcity location has closed. That spot (next to Cilantro/across from JWU) must be really really cursed. In the last 3-4 years it has seen at least 4 different business all of which have closed within a few months.

Does JWU own that space? You'd think they would want some stability there in their backyard...

Sign in the window, says contact... Paolino

          2. Just noticed that The American opened in what I presume is the previous Everyman space. Not sure how long it's been up and running, but I've heard zero chatter about it. Anyone been?

Not yet - saw an ad and checked out the website. Menu is very similar to America, which once occupied the space which is now McFaddens. Wonder if there is a connection. That being said, the menu did not make me want to rush right over.
