carpe diem - new canaan
I think we missed 50 coins which used to occupy this spot. Just kidding. A few of us went there the other night after the place had been open about a week. Cons-Hard bread-we were confused because the bread guy had what looked like three types of bread and gave 3 of us the same pieces which were not fresh and not so good. Crisp artichoke appetizer was tasteless and will never order it again. Server was unfamiliar with the limited wine list although we ended up with a decent not overpriced bottle. Halibut was ok although overseasoned. Pros-Tuna crostini was good although they forgot the crostini. Mussels were very good. Linguini with clams and garlic and oli were pretty good. Long story short, place is only a week old but we will not return for a few months until the service and kitchen smooth themselves out. we didn't bother with desert as the menu was limited and we weren't confident after the first couple of courses. Hopefully that will change.

Completely different experience. The place was nearly to capacity last night (a tuesday). The food did not dissapoint. The crispy artichoke was excellent and flavorful. The carpaccio with hearts of palm and avocado was delicious. For entrees, the penne with sweet and hot italian sausage was very good as was the pasta with prosciutto. We will definitely come back and it is a great addition to the dining scene.

re: CTeater
Agree w/LW1. A very nice addition to NC, and reasonably priced (for the market), to boot. Crispy artichoke was very good (although I give the nod to the one at Cava, but talking by degree). My wife started with the Insalata Carciofi, which I enjoyed more than she - thought it was too fibrous. Dressing was light and well executed. The Pappardelle Bolognese I had was as good as I've had. Homemade pasta was excellent; sauce had a wonderful depth of flavor, and the tomatoes added just the right touch of brightness. The Capesante grilled scallops were perfectly seasoned and prepared, and the endive salad was a capable accompaniment. A very nice panna cotta to finish. Wine list is ok - not much to get excited about. Reasonably priced, but mark-ups were fully calculated. The owner (I presume he was) was attentive, and offered us after dinner drinks. Enjoyed it enough to go back again tonight.
