Finally, Indian Food in Vineland!

We were thrilled to discover that this little place had sprung up amid the diner/chain/fast-food wasteland of (far) South Jersey. Usually we have to travel 25 miles north (to Voorhees) or west (to Philadelphia) for Indian-- I just hope the locals take a chance and support it. Open since October, the little place was clean and cheerfully decorated, enlivened by a TV playing Bollywood music videos. We were the only people there for a while, although an eight-top came in later. That, along with a couple of take-out orders, caused our server to become a little overwhelmed, but it really wasn't a problem. Based on our modest sampling of the menu (crispy papdums with fresh and spicy chutneys, palak paneer [spinach with cheese cubes], baingan bartha [eggplant with tomatoes and peas], garlic naan and onion kulcha [two kinds of flatbread]), it's obvious that whoever is in the kitchen knows what they're doing. Everything was spicy (as ordered), fresh and delicious. As in most Indian restaurants, there are many vegetarian offerings, as well as more unusual items such as goat and Hakka Noodles. We will definitely be going back. Bombay Bites, we're glad you're here-- Jai Hind!
