El Jacal vs. Mexitaco
We're thinking of doing Mexican tomorrow night. I've tried Mexitaco a few times and liked it but the past couple of times it hasn't been as good. I've heard good things about El Jacal. Has anyone tried both and can make a comparison?

I can only give you a half-answer as my experience is limited to El Jacal. I've eaten there about 4 times and always really enjoyed it. It's a very homey, casual "mom and pop" kind of spot, typically running soccer games on the tv in the background. The food is simple but good. The only thing is the last few times I've driven by there, it's been closed - and at odd times, like 7:00pm on a Saturday. If you haven't already, I'd double check that they're open.

I walked by it yesterday and it looks like they're doing renovations at El Jacal, and that the location is under new management. A sign says that they'll be re-opening soon.
Mexitaco is good. They have these pork and pineapple quesadillas that are pretty delicious. They do, however, have the most uncomfortable chairs ever.
