Looking for breakfast in Brisbane, SoCity with Gma

  • 4

Greetings fellow foodies,

I am coming home to the north for the weekend and wanted to have breakfast in or around the So San Francisco/Brisbane area. Hopefully someplace with a healthier menu than "diner" food, or if it is diner food than they must have an amazing chicken fried steak :)
But I am eating with my grandmother, so healthier would be better.
I can only think of that Swedish pancake house on El Camino in Millbrae, if it's still there... Mmmmm, lingonberries ;)

New input needed please!
Thankyous :)

  1. I've always been partial to Alana's Cafe in Burlingame. Good homemade scones, fresh fruit, and amazing oatmeal pancakes with ligonberry jam (not crepey, but more thick like traditional pancakes).

    1. Hello fellow lingonberry lover. Are you thinking of Millbrae Pankcake House? I believe they are still there on El Camino. I haven't been there in quite a while but I recall they had decent biscuits and gravy, not exactly healthy but oh so good. I used to like going to Alana's in downtown Burlingame. As I recall it is a step (or two) up from the typical diner experience. They have healthier options like a fruit and yogurt parfait and you can still get your Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries. Maybe Burlingame is a little too South and inland though. Good luck!http://www.chow.com/restaurants/5809/...

Sorry I screwed up those links. I'm an idiot. Better to look them up online. But hey, two votes for Alana's and I hadn't even read gmk's post when I commented.

      2. Thanks guys! Yes, Millbrae Pancake House and Alana's, those are good spots.

Any spots a little further north? Still out of the city though. I was thinking Brisbane might have something, no? It's so cute and hidden there

I really appreciate your help. Food can a hard find these days.
