Miraku...Excellent great neck restaurant

Miraku was rated one of the 10 best new restaurants by Newsday. I do not always agree with Newsday; but in this case they are correct.

I have eatenthereSO 3 times and everything I had was excellent...especially the edamame falafel, fish and chips, pumpkin soup and,of course, sushi and sashimi.

The only negative is that the restaurant is practically empty. I am afraid it will be another bad luck restaurant in that spot at 31 S. Middle Neck Road .

SO GO THERE!!!!!!!!!

Have to agree with you--excellent food. Innovative menu and highest quality fish. The owner is a fish wholesaler who sells to other restaurants. The sushi is impeccably fresh. Homemade shumai are several notches above the standard fare.

Glad you enjoyed it too. Was it empty when you were there? I know you can't park easily. We suggested hat maybe they should try to make a deal with the big lot across the street; but they reminded us that there is a Japanese restaurant there also and didn't think the owner of the lot wold be amenable to any deals.

Anyway, all you Chowhound eaters go there before it has to close.
