Hong Kong -- great private kitchens, late night dining for a big group

kermita Dec 29, 2011 02:35 AM

Hi. I am the social coordinator for a group of 15-20 visiting VIPs. I would like to expose them to the best of Hong Kong on a pretty tight budget ($300-$500/head). I was thinking that private kitchens might be an exotic and interesting experience with set banquet menus. Also, there will be some nights when we will be eating quite late (after 10:30pm). Any suggestions for suitable restaurants would be most welcome!

Da Ping Huo, the Sichuan private kitchen, charges HK$280 pp.

I am not an expert on private kitchens but the few I have been to seem to operate at normal restaurant times i.e 8:00pm so 10:30pm maybe tricky. You may be lucky with one or two but will need to ring around. I also wonder how well they will do a big group.

maybe Margaret Xu's Yin Yang. I think you'll find it difficult to find a place ("after 10:30" means 11 pm) after 11 pm.

One regular restaurant that stays open serving late is Lily & Bloom.
