Has anyone been to Cavatore, the Italian place on Ella Boulevard, just north of West 18th?

  1. I've been there a few times over the years. I remember it being decent and a reasonable option in the area.

Sorry I can't be more help, but I can tell you it's been there a loooong time.

    1. No bueno. Overcooked mushy pasta ala Olive Garden. Try Fratellis a few miles northwest instead.

      1. Its a lovely place, and the food is decent. Table-side caesar salad presentation is old-school and well executed. Live piano music most nights. Its the perfect date-place, as there are lots of little secluded corners for conversation. Servers do not hover, and no one will snatch your plate away the second you put your fork down. Parking is easy. Prices are reasonable, and there is a short but well-paired wine list. You won't find any foam, powder, or deconstructed dishes here -- just traditional red-sauce Italian, along with the piccattas, marsalas, etc.
