      1. I read in miami magazine that the people behind haven are going to open a gourmet taco place in south beach.

        I also read that Pied a Terre has a new chef that has cooked at Bouley and French Laundry. Anyone been recently?

          If Pied a Terre brought in someone with that kind of resume, they're doing a good job of keeping it a secret. Their website lists George Cocilova as executive chef, the only other thing I can find about him on the intertubes is that 4 years ago he was the chef at a salon & spa in a small town in NY. Would love to learn more if anyone knows.

              Also right next to that blurb is a new place called the a Lantao kitchen and bar which is supposed to be an asian streetfood hot spot at the surfcomber hotel. Not sure I get the concept..

              Finally this Mare Nostrum - Mediterranean place - is now open. Chef is from spain.

                Kimpton took over the Surfcomber and installed Lantao. I know what the original concept was but this didn't follow it entirely and seems awkward inside a hotel.

            My sister ate there towards the end of the year. Raved about it being the best French food she's had in Miami.
