According to Miami.com
South Beach Purdy Ave New parking garage.
Emack & Bolio's, Juan Valdez Cafe, Fratelli la Bufala, Icebox Cafe and El Rancho Grande, under a different name. They also say Pizza Bar is scouting the area and Lucali is looking to open next to barceloneta.
The ones I can speak to are I have heard El Rancho for a long time was going there but the name change is new to me.
Pizza Bar is more than scouting I believe - if you go to the contact us on their website they say 1749 Bay Road as one of their locations. This is right across the street from B&B.
Finally Lucali is more than looking to open next to barceloneta. They have signed the lease and have been doing demolition onsite since april.
Miami.com also says Zen Sai: Japanese style Izakaya opening July 23 at South Beach's Essex House Hotel

This is an unconfirmed rumor I heard and I hope I or someone else can confirm it.
I heard that Lucali may be opening a spot near, not in, the sunset harbour parking lot currently under construction.
If anyone can confirm this, please let us know.

I read in miami magazine that the people behind haven are going to open a gourmet taco place in south beach.
I also read that Pied a Terre has a new chef that has cooked at Bouley and French Laundry. Anyone been recently?

re: tpigeon
If Pied a Terre brought in someone with that kind of resume, they're doing a good job of keeping it a secret. Their website lists George Cocilova as executive chef, the only other thing I can find about him on the intertubes is that 4 years ago he was the chef at a salon & spa in a small town in NY. Would love to learn more if anyone knows.
