thanks for completing the list (maybe journal de montreal list pending). it was interesting to see lack of consensus just as here on chowboard. I thought there were some right on comments about service issues and suggestion for health reasons to cut back on salt. Its a good way to update our lists of places to try.

My pleasure. I don't think that the Journal de Montreal does enough restaurant reviews to come out with a year-end best of. There are a bunch of other food bloggers who will have come out with their year-end best of, but for the most part the only media missing is La Presse.

The La Presse lists will be in tomorrow's cahier Gourmand.

Marie-Claude Lortie: Bouillon Bilk, Le Filet, Hostaria, Van Horne and Satay Brothers

Robert Beauchemin: Accords, Imadake, Bar F, Kasa Maza and Aux 400 Coups.

MC Lortie agreed with me last year on Kazu and I agree with her this year on Le Filet. I've been there 6 times already.

    2. Interesting about Laurie Raphael; has anyone been recently?

The Gazette article makes me want to give it a shot...

Although I think the better headline would have been "Where we ate in 2011."
