HELP- What was I eating???

Christmas Eve at my brothers house- his inlaws cook a great meal- lots of fish, ham with all the trimmings, many appetizers and way to many desserts! His mother in law makes something which I love- and have no idea what it is called. It is made with eggs, orzo, ricotta, pepperoni, and parmesan. It is baked, and cut into squares- kids of looks like pale brownies. Does anyone know what this is called? I know she told me, but I forget- and she said that she usually makes it for Easter, but makes it for Christmas as she knows I love it. It is not pizzagaina. TIA.

It's pastiera. My family makes a meatless version of it around Easter time. Delicious!

I love it, too- but I am the only one in my house who does, so I only enjoy when I am at my brothers house, and his MIL is around. Maybe I should just make it and bring it to work. Food always get scoffed up quickly in the office!

Also called Pizza Rustica, usually made for 'Pasqua' (Easter), but why not have it whenever you want it?

Not quite the same as Pizza Rustica/Torta Rustica which is essentially a deep dish pizza (to me anyway) with a crust on top and bottom, no orzo.
