Rehearsal Dinner in the South End?

Howdy Hounds,
A friend needs to find a good rehearsal dinner space in the South End.
Price not a factor, but American people-pleasing food would help (ie, nothing "exotic" given older/timid diners in the party). Italian would also be fine.

She was originally considering Rustic Kitchen, which I cautioned against.

I'd second Gaslight & Hammersley's.

Hamersley Bistro actually has a private room off to the side as you first walk in. I've hosted dinners there with timid eaters and they left quite happy (and full!)

Not technically South End but Erbaluce in Bay Village has a private room upstairs and the food is incredible

Stella is a good choice. Not technically SE but Mistral's private room is very nice for this type of event.

American / New American: Hamersley's, Union, The Gallows, Stephi's on Tremont, J.J. Foley's Cafe, Tremont 647, 28 Degrees, Darryl's, Noche, The Beehive

French (but plenty for unadventurous diners): Gaslight

I don't think any of them has a private room big enough for that group. Stephi's and T647 have small private dining rooms (13-14 capacity). Many have semi-private areas, e.g., 28D, Stella.

Not sure how many people, though I would guess 20 or so. Private room not required, but preferred. Thanks!
