Coming up to NYC for a Seminar (play) on Wednesday - welcome recommendations for lunch. French or modern american - would be perfect. With the dear lady wife. Many thanks

It would be helpful if you could define what mid-price means to you. $30pp before tax, tip, any wine/drinks? $50pp?

Le Veau d'Or for a charming traditional French bistro, $22 prix fixe lunch and equally reasonable table d'hôte menu.

Thanks for the advice City Kid - unfortunately we were in NYC by the time of your post, as the place sounds wonderful. We ended up at The Modern - which is next too / part of MoMA and had a wonderful lunch - prices were not too bad - we got out at about $40 per head. The play was also great - Seminar with Alan Rickman!!!

The Modern is always a great choice!

Too funny. For my trip last month, we ate at the Modern for dinner one night and Le Veau d'Or the next. I guess I did a pretty good job on the planning side before we went!!!! I liked them both, for very different reasons. But most of all, the modern vs old school NYC was what sticks most in my mind.
