De Buyer Mandoline blades

Josh Dec 26, 2011 08:01 PM

Trying to find a replacement straight blade for my De Buyer mandoline but am coming up with nothing. Does anyone know if these are available? If not, can the blades be sharpened by a conventional knife sharpening service?

    Perhaps these might help?

Clearly you can remove the straight blade. So long as you have a nice exposed edge, I don't see why it can't be readily sharpened up for perhaps $5-8, instead of blowing much more serious cash to get a replacement.
