Where to find Moonshine?

  • 6

I recently tried Ol Smokey Tenessee Moonshine and would love to pick up a bottle to gift this week. I'm striking out on finding it locally, though I understand it is distributed in California. I'd be really grateful if you know where I could find some in LA, especially in the westside. Thanks!

  1. If I'm reading their web site right, this is the only place in LA that sells Ole Smokey TN Moonshine

    1. I saw something called something or another Moonshine - maybe even a couple of different somethings - at Topline Liquors on San Fernando Rd. (actually Riverdale Rd. but I always enter from San Fernando) in Glendale. You could call them and ask: 556 Riverdale Road Glendale, CA 91204-1825

I've seen a version at Wally's Wines as well

      2. Try the Wine House, which is just off the 405, just north of Olympic. They have a vast array of spirits as well as wine.

          1. it's my understanding that "moonshine" is going by several monikers these days, such as white dog, white whiskey, unaged whiskey. I've gone to whiskey tastings where white dog was offered up for tasting (and buying) and IMO there's a reason whiskeys are aged … it makes 'em taste good! ;) That said, I've seen Buffalo Trace's white dog @ Bevmo and I wanna say that I've seen Hudson's New York Corn Whiskey somewhere around town and another brand or two but didn't pay too close attention 'cause I prefer it aged some.
