St. Thomas Report
Just returned from a delightful week in St. Thomas. We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef and rented a car so that we could travel around. With four people in our group, taxis could get expensive since they charge per person.
Dinner One: Grand Cru in the Yacht Haven Marina. Lovely outdoor dining overlooking the marina. We shared a few orders of grilled tuna as well as paella. Both were excellent. The tuna was exceptionally fresh. We got to Grand Cru early and took advantage of 2 for 1 martinis!
Dinner Two: Hook, Line and Sinker in Frenchtown. Frenchtown is about a 1/2 mile west of Charlotte Amalie and is home to a number of the restaurants we tried. At H,L & S we especially liked the yellowtail snapper and the homemade pasta sauces. The atmosphere is fun and casual.
Our Third Dinner also took us to Frenchtown where we dined at Craig and Sally's. Craig and Sally's was the most creative of all the restaurants we ate at offering small plates, mid-plates as well as full-size entrees. As a result, we were able to sample a full variety of awesome food.
As we were leaving on Saturday, we made one last stop in Frenchtown for brunch at Bella Blu. Note: They are closed on Sundays. The brunch menu is highlighted by eggs benedict which can be ordered 7 different ways (the "benedictions") as well as excellent pancakes and omelets.
Finally, a shout-out to Pizza Amore across from the Havensight Cruise ship dock where we grabbed a comfortable lunch of subs and pizza.
