Rose Water

Where on the Northwest side can I find (No Glycerin) Rose Water for making Marzipan Candy?

You can get rosewater at two places fairly close to each other in Skokie: Village Market Place 4034 W. Dempster, and a little Persian grocery called Peyvand Foods at 3720 Dempster. Both of these would be much cheaper than Spice House, if they even have it. You can also surely get it quite readily and cheaply at pretty much any grocery in the area of Indian shops on Devon in Rogers Park.

Rosewater is commonly used as a flavoring in Middle Eastern pastry so try either Middle Eastern Grocery and Bakery, Foster just one door west of Clark, or Al Khayam, Kedzie in the block just south of Lawrence, west side of street.

This recommendation is not on the northwest side, but not that far away. The several locations of the Spice House carry it. If you're fairly close to downtown, the store in Old Town would be closest; if you're further out, the location in Evanston would be closest. They also have locations in Geneva and Milwaukee. www.thespicehouse.com/spices/rose-water
