Need an Italian restuarant for dinner in NYC 30-50's street west side for my 23 year old son and girlfriend
Our favorate in Little Italy is Angelo's for a frame of reference. I have not been to Patsy's in a long time. Good food with a nice atmosphere. $50 per person without alcohol or tip for 3 courses.

When it comes to Becco, I'm a strong naysayer! There was at time back when they first opened when the food was very good, and the ambiance was pleasant. But once Lydia became famous, and Becco became a tourist destination, things took a decidedly downhill turn. Not only have the pastas in the ayce prix-fixe declined, but so has the ambiance. They have jammed so many tables into all the dining rooms that seating is uncomfortably tight. And the noise level is so hideously high that carrying on a conversation requires shouting.
Imo, in that vicinity, Trattoria Trecolori is a much better option in every respect.

I am a big fan of Basso56 on West 56th betw Bway and 8th, a cozy, non-commercial restaurant with delicious food. My favorites on the menu are the baked smoked buffalo mozzarella wrapped in proscuitto and the grilled calamari. The owner Alex is very friendly. I highly recommend and the prix fixe lunch is a great deal.

I recommend Lydia's place, Becco in West 40's, good food, fun atmosphere. Lydia (from Food Channel) is there very often. The waiters walk around with pans with fresh made pasta dishes ( 3 types) and you can have as many refills as you wish. That's my pick and i'm stickin to it.
