Best in sandiego

I am in sandiego at the beginning of the year and looking for the best restaurant. Money is no object not sure Addison is inventive enough for the cost might try table three at georges. This is the direction I am leaning I also like ethnic foods but want an experience.

  1. Also in to local organic. A place like farm house looks ok what about grant hill?

    1. I think the time has passed to make reservation for TBL3, IIRC they need a couple weeks notice. I would still try though, and that would be my first choice.

Addison is surely the most expensive, and Anthony Secviar (former sous at The French Laundry) just signed on as exec Chef.

If you're an avant garde type as well, you might consider Kitchen 1540's White Flag Menu.

Local/organic/foraging see if Chef Gavin Schmidt is doing anything with a simple supper around that time.

You need a 3 week lead time on reservation for TBL3 and it has to be a tuesday, wednesday, or thursday. My guess on the timing is you may be a little late to organize something. Still you can call and see what they are willing to do for you...

Based on what you've listed, you should probably go to Addison. However, an alternate option is to try a tasting menu with Chef Aaron Martinez at 1500 Ocean. He is very much into the farm to table foraging scene as well, and you'll get to make a trip out to Coronado.

I'm not sure Kitchen 1540 even offers the white flag anymore since Chef McCabe left.

What is so good about tbl3 that you cant even go there and why is money no object?

The owner of Delicias Restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe has hired Chef McCabe to completely revitalize the restaurant and it's brand (think expansion to other locations). Pretty significant hire, and resto news for San Diego.

Does it need revitalizing? A 19 year old restaurant these days is pretty impressive. Foodiechick where in San Diego would you eat?

I had been emailing with Trey trying to set something up but it looks like our schedules will not workout. So table three will have to be another time. Thanks for your recommendations.
