The Fresh Market in Montvale NJ, on the Rockland County NY Border

I stopped at the Fresh Market, just over the Spring Valley, NY border in Montvale, NJ, today. I'm not sure when they opened, and they really haven't advertised in Rockland County, NY, which is a mistake, being that the store is so nearby. It's a very nice looking store.

I like that there is complimentary coffee, and also egg nog for the holiday season. I didn't buy much, I mostly window-shopped. I did pick up something in the bakery which looks wonderful. And a few items from the shelves. It really is gourmet, and reminds me of Whole Foods a little. But, it's a much smaller store than the Whole Foods that I've been to in Edgewater, Ridgewood, and Paramus, NJ.

32 Chestnut Ridge Road. It's in a strip mall not too far from Tice's Corner Marketplace.
It opened about 6 months ago. It is a beautifully arranged store, with gorgeous displays of produce, meat, and fish, and a big selection of treats, snacks, sauces, etc--it would be a great place to stock a gift basket. They have some decent specials, but it is pricey, more so than Fairway, for example.

I work nearby and welcomed it, thinking that their take-out counter and salad bar would make a nice change from the salad bar at DePiero's when I don't bring my lunch, but it somehow hasn't managed to stick on my radar. I literally had forgotten about Fresh Market until I saw this post.
