Where can I find some guava? Thanks! It's for my first-grade class.

I went to Trade Fair last night and indeed I saw small guavas labeled as baby Mexican guavas for $3.99/lb. I don't think I've ever eaten that type of guava.

Saw some green guavas on a chinatown fruit seller's cart yesterday on canal an maybe mott while getting traditional xmas dinner. Not outer boroughs, but hey, there they were.

I've bought some at Patel Brothers in Jackson Heights. Also seen it in Brooklyn in areas with a decent Dominican population.

small yellow ones (ie. Latin style) or large green ones? (the kind eaten raw with sugar, salt, and chili in thailand?)

yellow ones--saw some the other day at a grocer on 5th ave in sunset park--maybe 5th and 46? You should be able to find some if you wander 5th in the 40s.

Big green ones--try a large asian grocery store or fruit and veg vendor--I've seen them at these. Again, in brooklyn, 8th ave in the 50s in Sunset Park would be a good bet.

I used to eat all kinds of guava growing up. Large or small, different colors. They are crunchy when green and soft when ripe.
My mother said she saw some at Trade Fair in Ditmars a few days ago.
They're always really expensive, like $5/lb. A large one will usually exceed a pound.
