st. john's bread & wine....(& service) [London]
i am a total fergus henderson fan, love *underscored* the food @ all his restaurants. fetishize those custard donuts. give silent standing ovations to the ideas and execution of almost everything on the menus @ st. john's, bread and wine, and st. john's hotel.
as for the front of the house. sometimes it's fine. but sometimes, not so much.
this week @ bread & wine, i had a nearly identical experience to the experiences i had not once but twice before.
inattentive, unfriendly, withholding, bordering on downright nasty waitstaff. the effect on the pleasure of the meal: significant.
fergus, i adore you. your attention, please. you've got some house-cleaning and/or training to do.
