What to do with Serrano Ham

I ordered some thinly sliced Serrano ham as a holiday treat. It was lovely with whole grain bread last night, but what else should I do with it? Seems to me when you order it at a tapas restaurant it just comes on a platter with some cheese, maybe some almonds or pistachios. Or maybe with figs, but it's not the right time of year for those.

My preference is always to eat it on its own, as you'd get it in a Spanish tapas bar - particularly if its the really good stuff.

For a classic hot tapa, fry shreds of the ham with broad beans.

If figs aren't good where you are, how about melon or very ripe pears?

And this clam dish seems very Iberian - http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/cla...

Or, for a snack, how about a classic Mallorcan "pa amb oli" - toast some good bread, rub it with cut garlic, then squidge some tomato onto it and drizzle with your best olive oil and sprinkle with salt. This is fab just as it is but is also pretty good draped with the ham (in which case I owuldnt have slated the mix).

I'll second the idea of cooking it with clams - I had that at a local Spanish restaurant recently and it was seriously delicious!
