Duck
Search for a Manhattan restaurant that serves really good duck, not Chinese and no versions with a cloying fruity finish - just crisp, delicious.

absolutely! i'm booked for the rotisserie duck meal on Jan. 2 with intent to start the year off strong.

Thirded.
You can order it only at lunch (weekdays there's an all duck menu, weekends there's 1-2 duck dishes on the menu) or as part of a large group meal (reserved online, usually weeks in advance).

When available, the duck at Eleven Madison Park is incredible.

Seconded! Muscovy duck glazed with lavender honey, with a delicious crispy skin. It's not on the menu but you can request it on your reservation/while at the table. It's served for two, the breast is carved table side and the legs are taken back into the kitchen to make another dish for you. In our case it was served with duck jus and a foie gras sauce, with a potato velouté on top. Marvelous!

I haven't had it, but David Burke Kitchen serves Roast Duck for 2 on Saturday nights. The other dishes we had were very good to fabulous, so I'd expect the duck to be delicious as well. If you go, be sure to report back.

I'm a big fan of the duck at Momofuku Ssam Bar, Eleven Madison Park, and my absolute favorite is the duck at Bouley.

Call ahead to Roberta's - ask if they have any aged ducks in house and if not whether they can order one for you on a specific day. It will be cheaper than the one at EMP and, imo, better - as a matter of fact, it was probably the best duck dish I've had stateside with EMP being a very very close contender.

Gotham Bar has an excellent duck dish. Aquavit too. Peking duck house also has great duck, though that's their only good dish.
