Do I have to use the cupcake papers?

I know the papers keep the cake moist and makes them look pretty. But I don't have them at home right now and I want to make a few cupcakes. Is it okay if I pour the batter directly into the well greased pans?

    Well-greased, and floured. When I make them this way I also grease and flour the top of the pan so if the batter spills onto it it doesn't stick.

        Also, after they are baked I cool for about five minutes before turning them out. That seems to help prevent sticking. Good luck!
