Chowhound/Foodie Eating Adventure - Anyone in Seattle interested in having a meal (visiting from Austin in January)?
Hi Seattle Chowhounds and Foodies,
I had a little bit of a ridiculous trip planned just to go from Austin to Seattle to eat lunch at a staple, Salumi. I've decided to expand the trip from 1/12/12/ to to 1/15/12 (still going to Salumi for lunch) and I thought hey, why not see if anyone or a group of people is interested in meeting up for a meal or drinks.
The trip is far enough away that we could plan a few things and vet if anyone's pyscho or not.
I'm definitely a meatan aka borderline carnivore, so I'm always interested in good seafood and meat related food experiences. I've had bison heart (rare) for breakfast, pintxos (aka tapas) in Basque country, Galician octopus/pulpo and jamon iberico in Spain, prosciutto in Italy, blood sausage in Trinidad, celery in my lunchbox (just so you know I eat vegetables), etc.
As a visiting Austinite, I would certainly be into going to Quinn's or How To Cook A Wolf for sure.
I need to get back to writing soon, but here is an article that may indicate my love for random food adventures: http://austin.culturemap.com/newsdeta...

For another pleasurable meatfest, you might want to add Dot's Delicatessen to your list. As I was finishing up lunch there the other day (the happy hour Chef's Charcuterie Plate--big thumbs up), the chef brought around samples of a smoked pork chop he'd just taken out of the smoker. I've been dreaming about it ever since.
Their website seems to be malfunctioning, but it should be at http://www.dotsdelicatessen.com/
