Getting "sold out" very quickly. Maybe these are real deals.

    Hi, yayadave:

Thanks for posting this, but everyone should be aware (and beware) that the thickness of these pans is not disclosed, and from what I can see, they are not Mauviel's best. Chances are they are a "table service" line of 1.5mm thickness.

Thanks. I know almost nothing about these pans. That site is probably selling to the general public and not to real "Chowhound-ers."

        Hi, yayadave:

No problem. Mauviel does not make it particularly easy to tell one grade pan from another, and many resale sites do not add any clarification. The best I can tell, like Ford pickup trucks, if you see m150, it's 1.5mm; if it's m250, it's 2.5mm. To me the glass lids and SS handles are a giveaway.

        Aloha,

Amazon.com has a section called "Warehouse Deals". Open box returns, cosmetic flaws, one off specials. You can find the section from their main page by going to the GOLD BOX "Today's Deals" at the top of their main page and then clicking on the "Warehouse Deals" box at the upper right.

Here's a link to their current Mauviel - Amazon Warehouse Deals specials:

Here it is in TinyURL in case the long URL above doesn't work

Sometimes it's a real deal and sometimes, for some reason I've seen prices higher than the regular price, so always check your "bargain" against the price on the main Amazon page.

Mauviel does not have "sales," the prices are set by the manufacturer and they have gone through great pains to try and control the prices on their products. I spoke to the gentlemen where I purchased my cookware and they aren't even allowed to include a free gift with purchase because it essentially reduces the price of the cookware. You can find exclusive sets at different websites, but the price for the cookware is the exact same.

Is that why Sears is selling a Mauviel M'Heritage M250C 6504.26 10.5 Inch Round Frying Pan for $ 460 and Amazon is selling it for $ 230?
