Chinese in the Triangle for Chrismas Dinner?

Melissalg422 Dec 22, 2011 02:43 PM

Looking for a Chinese restaurant that will be open on Christmas for the traditional Christmas Chinese and a movie for those of us who aren't celebrating. Any suggestions for Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill? We'd love something that was nice enough to eat in and not just do take-out.

Thank you!

Are you looking for traditional/authentic Chinese or Chinese american?

Several CHers are planning a gathering at Super Wok (authentic szechaun) in Cary on Christmas Day at 7. Join us. The Galaxy Theater (art films) is down the street.

Chazzer, we're up for either! And TerryG, that sounds great! We might be doing more of an early bird special timing but we'll definitely check out the restaurant.

In that case Super Wok in Cary is one of my favorites, also in Cary is Taipei 101, more of a Taiwanese menu.

In Raleigh there is Asian Grill, they have a number of Shanghai dishes including XLB (Soup Buns), and off Capital there is Fortune Palace. I have not been there in a while but they have traditional Chinese, american Chinese and Malaysian dishes.

I had a cold so this is a bit late; but Gourmet Kingdom was open & jumping tonight.

We went to Super Wok and it was delicous! Our Raleigh friends said it was the best Chinese they'd had locally so thank you for the recommendation.
