WANTED: Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

I need a killer chocolate cheesecake recipe for Christmas dinner. I’ll be taking it to my MIL’s house, primarily as a treat for her. She had lap-band surgery recently and will only be able to eat a small sliver of the cake. That’s why it needs to be amazing, not just good.

Any responses and tested recipes would be much appreciated. I have a go-to cheesecake recipe, but my MIL loves chocolate cheesecake, which I’ve never made before.

(I *know* I could use google, and I have, but I really want to hear the recipe is great from someone here at CH.)

This is a decadent chocolate cheesecake:

I add a teaspoon or so of instant espresso powder to it. That's nice of you to think of your MIL.

I like this recipe and agree about the espresso, but I actually prefer it without the topping

I thought about adding the ganache to the base, after baking it and pouring the cheesecake batter on top of that. I think I'd like it better that way. It was hard to cut through w/out breaking the cheesecake layer.

that's a good idea, though I would still want a very thin layer, personally, because I like the cheesecake part the best.

This is my go-to cheesecake recipe, period. I have made it dozens of times and there's no better cheesecake, chocolate or otherwise, IMO. I make it exactly as written (ganache and all).

Thank you for the replies. Coincidentally, I had my eye on both of those recipes. Now to choose which one to make! It's nice to hear that the recipes are delectable from the words of someone here at CH.
