Thank you for your suggestions. The further I look the more complicated it becomes. If we lived there it would be a lot easier.I'm now leaning toward a gift card for the Ethan Stowell restaurants this way they have a couple to choose from. It's also easy to buy a gift card online. What do you think? Is it a good or bad choice?

That sounds like a very good idea, though $100 probably wouldn't fully cover dinner for two.

$100 will cover a dinner for two at an Ethan stowell restaurant, but probably not drinks as well--But I think it's a great option. At Staple and Fancy the Fancy Menu is $45/ea so the gift card would just barely cover. I feel like we usually run about a $75 tab at HTCW and A & O, so a beer could even fit in too.

The other 'group' that could work would be McCracken/Tough. Tavern Law, Spur and Coterie Room. Coterie Room is brand new and wonderful.

Nothing too formal (suit and tie),adventurous eaters.I would like to spend about $100.00.Anywhere in Seattle proper.Preferably a newly opened restaurant.

How about terra plata on Capitol Hill? http://terraplata.com/
or Mezcaleria Oaxaca on Queen Anne http://www.mezcaleriaoaxaca.com/

Tsquare, could you please tell us a little more about the food at Mexcaleria Oaxaca? This is the first I've heard of it and went to the website but could not open it. Maybe it can't be opened. Obviously they must serve mezcal, but what about the food? Thanks!

Same owners as la carta de oaxaca in Ballard. More info on Facebook. Pictures too.

Can you narrow it down a little? Type of food, or at least some general preferences and dislikes? Formal, or casual? Price range? Preferred parts of town?
