The kuraidori line up generally has two different levels of a product. In the cookware they have a standard encapsulated bottom and a series of 3ply cookware. The encapsulated base is a nice line but the 3 ply of course is much better for not much difference in retail. They use the same thinking in their knife line up where they have a knife series made with japanese steel that is better than most people have in their homes currently. They also offer a much higher end knife series made of damascus steel that is chef quality but priced much better than similar knives out there. All the Kuraidori products can only be purchased at Home Hardware Stores as they have the exclusive on it.
I have many of the kuraidori products and like it so much that I have started giving them out as gifts to friends and family. I absolutely love my 8" damascus chef's knife and take it with me when I go on holidays to the cottage. Can't live without it.
