Are There Any Store-Bought Pizza Crusts Worth a @#!*% ?

I'm planning on making Lebanese thyme (zaatar) pizza in the near future and am wondering if there are any store-bought pizza crusts comparably good to homemade. If not, I'll just make my own, but I wouldn't mind saving some time and effort on this endeavor.

In one of Nigella Lawson's books (I forget which one) she has a recipe using Naan bread as your pizza dough. It works out great for me and has become one of my "go to" dinners. I keep a package of Naan in the freezer, as well as some shredded mozzarella and frozen cubes of tomato puree. Makes a great quick dinner.

+1. I use naan as a base for not only pizza, but other snacks (especially good with a schmear of almond butter, warmed under the broiler).

Does anyone know if Costco is using Rich's dough. Or if there is anyone who uses Rich's dough and who have been to Costco, is it similar?

My initial response was going to be to just go to your local Middle Eastern Bakery and get some Zatar Bread. I find it makes the best pizza "dough". I pre heat it to get it a bit crispy before I put on the toppings.
BUT: I see you are probably not in an area that has a good Lebanese bakery. My suggestion is to get some of the flat style pita (greek style) and sprinkle some olive oil and zatar seasoning on it.
Otherwise, most supermarkets carry frozen pizza dough. In our area most pizzerias will also sell you some ready to use dough.

Trader Joes make a pretty decent pizza dough. It comes in white, whole wheat, and garlic herb. Leave it out for an hour instead of the 20 minutes the package tells you to. I like using it when pizza is a last minute decision and I don't have time to make yeast dough from scratch and let it rise.

About a year ago I discovered while having a hot dog at Sam's club that they sell their pizza dough. It comes frozen, indivually bagged in a case of 20 or 24, around $20. You have to take them out and proof for at least 8 hours in a covered bowl, they will strech out and make a beautiful 16" pie, or thick crust if you want and I have made foccacia and calzones with it also. Only way to go anymore in my book, really worth a #&^%*! You have to buy them at the snack bar, they are not with the frozen stuff in the main part of the store.

I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF COSTCO IS USING RICH'S DOUGH. They are sorta similar, although Costco's snackbar pizza gets a little dried out...

If you have any bakeries near you, most will sell you a ball of dough.
