King crab!

Where in New England -- preferably greater Boston area -- can I get crab? I'd prefer a restaurant as it could get difficult to boil one myself using the kettle in my hotel room. Also it should be really good, not frozen.

  1. I started this thread awhile back which didn't turn up too many options. I just had some excellent king crab legs at Del Friscos in the last week. Steakhouse prices and then some though.

    1. The were doing show & tell with a monster crab last year when we were at Peach Farm in CT. I would call them 1st though.

      1. I love king crab legs. I'd call McCormick & Schmick, and Summer Shack. They are the last two places I had them, but not always on the menu. They both do a good job with them.
        Enjoy (and Merry Christmas),

The Oceanaire (sp?) on Court St. offers Alaskan king crab legs at "market price", which seems to be around $60/lb. these days...

        2. for live king crab, in Chinatown, try calling New Jumbo, New Golden Gate, possibly Jade Garden...

or East Ocean; i recommend buyng the biggest one available as they are tastier.

          2. Go directly to East Ocean City on Beach St in Chinatown and order one of their live Alaskan King Crabs. It is expensive but well worth it especially if you have a large group. I was their about a week ago with 10 people and we ordered a 7.5 lb crab along with 3 other dishes and it was great. The flash fry the crab and then quickly toss the pieces with sea salt and chilli flakes. The combination of the sweet crab meat with the salt and chilli is wonderful. It is finger food but well worth the effort.

The Crab itself was over $250 but worth it if you have a large group of people.

Oops!! How many people could it feed? Do twenty five people get more than a bite each for $10?

i think that you better budget a lot more than 10 bucks per person; i would guess that a crab should feed about 4 to 6 people.
