V&A cafe [London]

I had a really delicious fish pie in the V&A yesterday. Small chunks of good-textured fish - salmon and at least two varieties of white fish, plus a few peas and pieces of cauliflower in a rich creamy sauce, under good mashed potato. The man next to me had a slice of gorgeous-looking coffee cake. The rooms are beautiful and altogether it is a very nice place for lunch before or after visiting the Private Eye or Power of Making exhibitions (both free). And you can sit in the cafe for hours without being disturbed.

  1. Sadly, the last time we were at the V&A, we had planned to try the Chinese place near the Tube stop (which we enjoyed a lot). The cafe looked so beautiful, so we did have a coffee, and I've promised myself to make a return visit for a proper lunch. I'm glad you reminded me of that!
