Christmas Day Meal...
Last year went to St. Regis in Monarch Beach for Christmas Dinner Buffet---but this year would prefer to do something either closer to West L.A. or Downtown L.A. or even San Gabriel Valley is okay...just not as far as Monarch Beach haha
I know there is the usual OpenTable list...and I know choices are limited cos many places are closed on Christmas Day--so besides the usual like Benihana, Pacific Dining Car, Buca di Bepo, etc...
Are there any NICE HOTEL Brunch/Dinner Buffets you would recommend for Christmas Day?
I'm flying back to L.A. to spend it with my Dad, so we wouldn't be cooking and we'd rather go out somewhere or else I'd do Honeybaked Ham etc...
He loves food but isn't into molecular gastronomy or anything too crazy or 3 hour tasting dinners...he loves the oldies but goodies like Lawrys Prime Rib and such.
In the past I've had wonderful Holiday Buffets at Mandarin Orientals and Ritz Carlton hotels...would love some thoughts/feedback from you guys :) But it does not have to be limited to just hotel buffets either...if there's a nice Christmas meal spot too, would love to know!
Thanks!!!

Many years ago I went to a Christmas buffet at 94th Aero Squadron in Van Nuys. In general I think it's a decent but not spectacular restaurant, but I remember the buffet as being very nice. And you are right on the edge of Van Nuys airport, so you can watch small planes taking off and landing.
