It's a bit further north, but I've had good luck with churros at Buenos Aires Bakery on Collins Ave. just north of 71st Street. They are infinitely better than what they usually serve at Manolo a couple blocks north, which is (unjustifiably) famous for its churros.

My experience with churros is very limited but I enjoyed the churros at barceloneta's brunch on sundays -- not sure if they are still serving them but I think they are.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Will try and get up to BAB tomorrow morning.

I have enjoyed reading many of your posts and we have had a fantastic visit in SB. Highlights were Garcia's, Ola, Las Olas, Fratelli la Buffala (went to their Milan location and it was good), Pubbelly (!!!), My Ceviche, Cafe Nuovo, mojitos at the Ritz, two Stone Crab feeds, and a surprisingly good local rec of Larios (shrimp filled tostone cups, midnight sandwich, awesome fries). Found Joes too much of a machine, Rare was an expensive Meh, and missed La Sandwicherie, Tonis sushi, Ortanique, very VERY sadly Michaels (due to the Rare fiasco), and 11th Street (all next time). Thanks for all the CH advice.

Got to go home now and recover...
