I'm almost embarrassed to admit, but I like Sharkey's in Ladner. It's a maritime-themed seafood restaurant/pub - very casual and rustic. While I don't know if everything on their menu would be Chowhound-worthy, if you order their clams, mussels, or cioppino, you can't go wrong. It's a personal fav after birding at the bird sanctuary - love that place!

Thanks, everyone. Any recommendations for Chinese in Richmond? Especially when there are only 2 of us!

re: PAO
For two...
Would you consider food court fare? I say the Richmond Public Market (specifically the XIan stall).
How about Chinese BBQ? (HK BBQ Master - get the roast pork on rice or the cha sui or the duck).
How about a noodle house (Michigan or Tsim Tsai for congee or noodle soups).
Taiwanese Beef Noodles? (Master Hung at Aberdeen Centre mall).

re: fmed
Kick it up a notch and show PAO the virtues of HK BBQ Master, graphically:

I second La Belle Auberge, but my last time there was many years ago !
Since you're already so close to Richmond, you could also go pig out at The Hog Shack:
Or some casual fish & chips at the Steveston pier/waterfront at PaJo's (two locations in Steveston area):

And of course, if Asian (particularly all genres of mainland Chinese/Hong Kong/Taiwan) is desired, Richmond is your oyster, so to speak.
