River Rock Christmas Brunch Buffet - Is it a mistake?

A bunch of us are planning to go to go here.

Reading reviews I'm beginning to get cold feet. Anybody have any experience?

See Torrid's thread asking about Christmas Day buffet dinner. I found Mosaic @ Hyatt serves both brunch and dinner buffets:

Anyone good playing in the theatre there? The acoustics are fantastic and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

If you (or your entourage) prefer buffets, check out the downtown hotels. They'd be pricier, but also better food and service, I gather.

I see three strikes in this scenario: Casino + Christmas + Buffet. I don't see how it can be any good! That said...these events are not really about the food, but the company right?

My experience has been that Special Occasion buffets are always a mistake if you're expecting
            1-something special
            2-your money's worth

FWIW-an out of town friend who once ate there regularly does no longer -he says it's not nearly as good as formerly.
