Moonshine Supper Club - Millburn

  • 6

Friends pointed this place out to me; it's in the former Restaurant MC spot. We walked past after 10 on Saturday night and it was certainly busy. Anyone know anything?

Their website says coming in November and the only link is to make a res via Open Table. No 'about,' no menus, no other info. Why bother with a site at all?

  1. I sometimes feel that spot is destined to be forever occupied by overpriced, underperforming restaurants!

    1. If I had to pick an equivalent of this place it would be David Todd's in Morristown. Nothing too exceptional, but hard to pick it apart...with the possible exception of the decor in the bar/lounge area, housed in a former jewelry store. It has all the charm of the Regal Beagle...with a hideous neon light squiggling along the ceiling which commands all the charm of a Gentleman's Club on Route 9. The truffled gnocchi with meatballs is a solid hearty appetizer that can be offered as an entree, but the mushroom risotto was generically bland despite it's truffle infusion.. The scallops served with celery puree were also truffled up come to think of it. It can only mask so much though.

      1. Hi, Victor from MoonShine here...thanks very much for your interest. The reason we had a temp-page up was to make it easy for people to get our address, phone number, and make online reservations. The website was delayed a bit in production but is absolutely live now! All important need-to-know info is on there including menus, pics of all the different rooms and cuisine, hours, parking details and directions. Stop in and say hello, I'm almost always here!

        1. the real question is how are the cocktails? Do they have a real bartender who can make real drinks or the usual know nothings slinging appletinis and cosmos.
