Helen's Fabulous Cheesecake - anyone know where she is?

lulumoolah Dec 19, 2011 02:25 PM

I know that Helen's Fabulous Cheesecake closed down several years ago, but I wanted to know if anyone knew where she was now and if she was still baking and selling her amazing cheesecakes. I was shocked when her place shut down and have yearned for her wonderful cheesecakes in the years since. I have yet to find a cheesecake I enjoy more than hers. Forget Juniors and Eileen's...

Helen is no longer making cheesecakes for mass consumption, but she has very fond memories of her cafe and of all the wonderful people she met. She cherished each and every compliment she ever received for her culinary creations and continues this tradition for her grandchild today.

    Thank you,

Thanks for the update. All these years my friends and I wondered what happened to Helen and her wonderful cheesecakes. I'm glad she's enjoying her life with her family and friends.

That said, I still miss her cheesecakes and regret not eating more. Alas... I wish she had a blog or website.

Still great to know that she's doing wonderfully. Please extend my compliments to her. Her cheesecakes were amazing!

I don't understand the hype over Junior's cheesecake either. I bought one once and found it dry and tasteless. I had an excellent one that I ordered for a work meeting from Carnegie Deli in Manhattan. Moist, dense, delicious and not too sweet. I think it was $30.00. It was so rich that I couldn't finish the piece I had. I would order from them again with no hesitation.

Junior's=treakly, artificial, many years beyond deserving of a long-past reputation. The Mama Leone's of cheesecakes. Authentic and fresh have become so hard to find.
