Chinese New Year-themed event at a nice restaurant?

Hi fellow hounds! Looking to throw a Chinese New Year bash (cocktails/dinner) for a max of 30 guests (looks like 27-30 people).
I have inquired at the Drake Hotel for a redux of their Chinatown pop-up menu, as well as Lee Lounge (**is this restaurant no longer any good? I have never been to Lee Lounge), and also Lai Wah Heen (for the classic Chinese banquet experience).

Most of my coworkers are non-Chinese so I am pretty sure I could get away with Lai Wah Heen for impressing them (I am also considering Lai Toh Heen but want to keep this downtown)...but I'd prefer something nouveau/fusion/interesting (my first choice is the Drake but not sure if this would work entirely).

Any other fancy Chinese-y restaurants in town that would do something delicious, unique, spectacular that I might be missing?

Other food notes: One coworker is allergic to shellfish and the other one is kosher (not overly strict, bt no pork or shellfish)...so that's why I am considering that Lai Wah Heen may not be the best option.

I went to Lee last week. Still good. Still love the Singapore Slaw. Wouldn't get the shrimp dumpling dish again, but I'd re-order the crispy tofu & Korean beef ribs.

I wouldn't try to do a food-oriented Chinese New Year with people who can't or won't eat pork and/or shellfish. I'd take people who can't do pork or shellfish to watch the parade, then take them to Lee or somewhere for vegetarian pizza.

Lai Toh Heen closed this year.

As usual, prima's comments are spot on. However, to identify higher end Chinese places downtown, there is also the Crown Princess on Bay, S. of Bloor and the Dynasty on Yorkville Ave. Of the two, the CP is more roomy for a larger group.
