Las Vegas - Mexican for a group

  • 6

I am heading to Vegas with a group of 9 or 10 in January. We have other spots picked out for dinners, but need a place on Friday. Our focus is more on a fun spot than finding the best food in town. We are planning on drinking and heading out after. We are a group of guys in our 30s. I am looking at Mexican options and don't want to break the bank so thought that would be a good way to go.

I have done some digging and there are plenty of options, just wondering what ones would be the best options. We are staying at the Mirage and going out to a couple clubs after. El Segundo Sol? Yolos? Others? We were going to go to someplace in the Palazzo, and they just closed.

Ideas? Thoughts?

  1. How much are you looking to spend per person? Also, Yolos is a Brazilian steakhouse and does not serve Mexican food. Two separate and distinct cuisines.

Yolos Mexican Grill in Planet Hollywood is a Brazilian steakhouse? I find that pretty hard to believe. I am very much aware that Brazilian and Mexican food are different.

We are thinking about $60/person with drinks.

I just did a quick search and you are getting Yolo's confused with Yolie's.

      2. Mundo's is nice off strip location and then you can hit some local hipster clubs downtown.

Or China Poblano at Cosmopolitan is good and you can't go wrong there. You can also go Book & Stage for some great bands or Bond for a little DJ action.

El Segundo is OK. Not bad not great.

        1. Downtown - I like them all but for different reasons. The Griffin - just like the LA club. Always good. Beauty Bar - Great music. Insert Coins - Bar plus arcade in club, what more is there to say? Downtown Cocktail Lounge - Amazing cocktails.

Near downtown and somewhere on between. I love Frankie's Tiki Bar. Revival tiki dive bar. Dino's - Great dive bar with the best karaoke scene ever (weird kooky f-ing awesome karaoke).

        2. my wife and I had a great dinner at Diego last time we were in Vegas.
