New Year in Madrid

I will be in Madrid with my boyfriend and we are searching for a nice restaurant to have dinner on New Year's Eve. I have seen the previous posts but the difference is that we don't want to be in the restaurant at midnight, so it can be a place which is open in the evening only. We would like to finish our dinner around 11 p.m. and then head to Puerta del Sol to be there at midnight. It also doesn't need to be very fancy or expensive and we don't want any special programs or shows - just a nice authentic place preferably serving spanish cuisine.
Will be grateful for any suggestions.

Head to La Panera on Calle Arenal 19 (between Plaza Opera and Puerta del Sol). There is a dining room upstairs but I like best to stay downstairs close to the counter to share 'raciones' (large tapas). My recs: 'chopitos' (platter of fried baby cuttlefish), pulpo (slices of boiled octopus with paprika) or lacón (slices of pork shoulder with paprika). Wine by the glass.
