Eggnog
Made some eggnog for the first time this weekend using Jeffrey Morgenthaler's recipe with cognac, and a mix of dark rums (Coruba and Lemon Hart 151). I also knocked the sugar down to 1/4 cup.
Very tasty.
I was thinking of making another batch this week, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for other great eggnog recipes, or specific spirits that have worked well.

Made a large batch of Morgenthaler's recipe this year as well except I think eggnog is best with a dark spiced rum. Great recipe and dead simple. We went through 3L at a party I threw. I think using the milk really does make it a bit lighter tasting.
The NYT recipe looks delicious and I could see serving it as a dessert.

I like the Morgenthaler recipe a lot, but the one I like the most is this old NY Times recipe, which is almost more of a dessert (like an egg nog mousse), but really tasty. It's a huge recipe, so I usually cut it in half.
