Recent Food Epiphanies?
We had two of them today, both at East by Northeast’s new brunch.
This being my second time having them, I can honestly say that I have had few things as ethereal
as their Sous Vide Eggs w/ Crispy Mantou bread and Pork Ragout. The bright yellow yolked local eggs give such added unctuousness to the pork ragout and crispy mantou croutons. It is just a perfect dish. Likewise a much simpler salad of edamame, beet cubes, kale bits and scallions, all dressed in a bright and comforting lemon sesame dressing. WOW was the operative word here today! I hope more people will catch onto their new brunch service. It was relatively empty today (after a crazy busy Sat night (last night) apparently) but I think that will change soon. The NYTimes is featuring them soon in a Travel section piece on Cambridge (also including Craigie and Sofra.)
