New Year's Eve Thoughts?

We have some friends coming to town who have asked about possible New Year's dinners or even fun SD ideas for that night. These guys are probably not your gaslamp or hotel type of event people. I found two places i thought I'd share, but would love to know if anyone out there has a great stash spot for NYE? Open to any and all suggestions (including, here's what you should cook and do at home!)
Here are the two I found interesting:

Regal Beagle - They are doing a $50 pp all you can eat & drink off their regular menus from 7 pm to 11 pm - they end it at 11 pm with a Mountain Time Zone toast. That's a lot of wieners.

Sessions Public - $35 pp for dinner (said they were still working on the menu) and bottomless Moscow Mules. Find myself wondering how many mules someone can consume in a 4-5 hour period.

Anyone seen any lower key, off the beaten path type of NYE adventures they would recommend?

Thanks!

oh yeah. We went to Urban Solace two years ago and it was absolutely fantastic. I was leery of the service because I can't imagine having to work on NYE, but the staff was on it.

We are going back this year, can't wait!

A few years ago we did Starlite with a small group of people and had a blast, check in to that also.

    2. Sessions Public has made some nice improvements since their opening, in food, drink, and service. If you're looking to spend the night mostly sitting at the table then Sessions Public is a good spot. I am not a fan of mules but their beer selection is pretty good. The small plates and burgers are excellent choices.

But if your party wants to get up and dance or mingle, then that wouldn't be ideal. I'm part of the former so I'd choose SP.

      Cheers.

      1. I'm going to the Lafayette for their shindig (not a Chowhounder venue), but the I'm on the email list for the Wine Vault and Bistro, and its NYE lineup looks pretty good:

Wine Vault & Bistro is pleased to announce a delicious New Year's Eve dinner paired with some great wines. We'll have two seatings: one at 5:00 for those of you who have other parties to go to (or just want to get home at a sane hour) and another one at 9:00 for those of you who would like to ring in the new year here at the Vault.

Cost is $65.00 for the 5:00 seating (Champagne reception plus four courses paired with four wines) and $100 for the 9:00 seating (Champagne reception plus five courses paired with six wines plus a glass of bubbly for a midnight toast).
