ISO a real Italian polenta expert

I know you can buy wooden individual serving platters to scoop out polenta for individual servings. Anyone know what they use in Italy ( and what I could buy or get hubby to manufacture) for a large, communal serving piece?
Want to do this for a party in between Christmas and New Year's?

    1. It's just a wood board, like a cutting board, or even a pizza peel - on which you can serve a mound of relatively stiff polenta. It can be as simple or fancy as you want, Size should match the amount of polenta.

      compared to the cost of the proper copper polenta pot, the cost of the board is minor. :)

        That custom oval one is nice. I may still go for one of the ones like at fantes, just larger and get the edges smoothed out. Once you put sauce on it and add sausages and such around the outside, do you wash with soap and water. I would think that would warp and damage the wood.
